Position Overview
Studyville is seeking an exceptional Director of Academic Development to lead and expand our comprehensive test preparation services. This strategic leadership role will oversee all test prep operations across school partnerships and Studyville locations, while positioning our organization as a competitive force in the test prep industry. The ideal candidate will combine outstanding test-taking expertise with proven leadership abilities to drive program excellence and growth.

 

Work Environment

  • This is a full-time M-F position; evening and weekend availability required as needed by the business
  • This is an onsite position reporting to the corporate in Baton Rouge, LA

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Expansion

  • Oversee all test prep services at partner schools and Studyville locations
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand test prep offerings into MCAT and LSAT markets
  • Position Studyville as a leading competitor in the test prep industry through innovative programs and exceptional results
  • Design and implement scalable test prep programs that deliver measurable student outcomes

Curriculum Development & Partnership Management

  • Collaborate with curriculum partners to ensure alignment with current test formats and best practices
  • Develop comprehensive training protocols for ACT, SAT, PSAT, and state standardized tests (including Louisiana LEAP and other state assessments)
  • Stay current with test changes and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage
  • Create and update test prep materials and resources as needed

Team Management & Training

  • Recruit, hire, and manage all test prep tutors across locations
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for test prep tutors
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for all test prep instruction
  • Monitor tutor performance and provide ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Step in to teach test prep sessions when needed to maintain service continuity

Data Analysis & Performance Tracking

  • Partner with the Senior Data Analytics Manager to establish robust data collection systems
  • Track and analyze student performance metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness
  • Use data insights to continuously improve test prep methodologies and outcomes
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance and student achievement

Strategic Collaboration

  • Report directly to the VP of Sales on program performance and growth opportunities
  • Work closely with the VP of Sales to align test prep services with overall business objectives
  • Collaborate with school partners to understand their specific test prep needs
  • Coordinate with marketing team to promote test prep services

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Near-perfect ACT (34+) or SAT (1500+) scores with ability to demonstrate test-taking expertise
  • Minimum 3-5 years of test prep teaching experience
  • Proven management experience with ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Deep knowledge of standardized testing landscape, including college entrance exams and state assessments
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching MCAT, LSAT, or other graduate-level entrance exams
  • Track record of building or scaling test prep programs
  • Familiarity with Louisiana educational standards and LEAP testing
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and performance analytics
  • Previous experience in educational technology or online learning platforms

Pay Range

USD $80,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
